Spring 2019 Semester Program Curriculum

Held exclusively at the West 65th Street Studios, our 16-week Semester Program is offered in the Fall and Spring. If you’re looking for a program to ignite your dancer’s passion, then the Semester class option will be the perfect choice.

CURRICULUM

Dancers must be 2 by September 14, 2019

Creative Movement introduces rhythm and musicality, elementary ballet skills, weight shifting, and imaginative movements referencing animals and nature.

Hip-Hop focuses on the popular urban style of dance. Class work consists of a cardio and strength building warm-up, stretching and developing a vocabulary of steps and combinations.

Dancers must be 3 by September 14, 2019

Ballet/Tap Combo introduces rhythm and musicality, elementary ballet and tap skills, weight shifting, and imaginative movements referencing animals and nature.

Hip-Hop focuses on the popular urban style of dance. Class work consists of a cardio and strength building warm-up, stretching and developing a vocabulary of steps and combinations.

Dancers must be 5 by December 31, 2019

Ballet/Tap Combo (1hr 15 min class) builds upon rhythm and musicality, elementary to intermediate ballet and tap skills, weight shifting, and imaginative movements referencing animals and nature.

Hip-Hop (45 min class) focuses on the popular urban style of dance. Class work consists of a cardio and strength building warm-up, stretching and developing a vocabulary of steps and combinations.

Dancers must be 7 by December 31, 2019

Unique Movers is an inclusive program using a positive reinforcement approach to dance and movement skills for individuals of different abilities. Students will have a "buddy" with whom they will work closely with for the duration of the course. The class will begin with a gentle warm-up and stretch, followed by various exercises designed to help improve the mover's motor skills, build confidence, and enable social interactions while building new friendships. Students will learn combinations of movement to help facilitate sustained attention, information processing, cognitive flexibility and control, pattern recognition, and a sense of independence and self-esteem in their environment. Unique Movers was designed as a platform for movers of all abilities to come together and experience the joy that dance and music bring each of us!  

Dancers must be 10 by December 31, 2019

Triple Threat is a 1.5 hour class that combines musical theater dancing, acting, and singing.

Trial Class Policy

Are you trying to decide which class to register for? If you are still undecided, we invite you to participate in a trial class! Come try a class of your choice for a fee of $35. If you decide to then register for that class, your trial fee will be deducted from your tuition!

  • Please call 212.582.9304 (W45) or 212.457.0035 (W65) the day before class to make sure the class is not at capacity. 
  • Arrive twenty minutes prior to class to get set up with a front desk staff member, no online registration is necessary.
  • All participants will pay on-site on the day of the class.
  • No trial classes will be permitted after October 13, 2019 for the Fall Semester or after February 16, 2020 for the Spring Semester.
  • No trial classes are permitted for any class that has a wait list.
